Barbara Stamegna Abstract Artist

My beginnings…

Iwas born in Rome, Italy, in 1971 and I’m a self-taught artist.  Since childhood I spent a lot of my free time in drawing, for which I had a natural gift. I used to draw pictures of flowers, landscapes, horses and  portraits of my relatives.  But it’s only starting from 1991 that I started to think that art could be my path, and I started dedicating myself to it with great passion.

My art path…

Since 1991 I started my oil painting technique art production from a figurative base, shifting quickly into an abstract and symbolic dimension, and experimenting at the same time diverse artistic techniques and various materials.

I started showing my artworks in solo and group exhibitions, also worldwide renowned, in many countries of the world, and I received awards and appointments for the highly professional results and expertise obtained in the art world with my paintings.

My paintings are exhibited at the Municipality of Cranston (Rhode Island – USA) and in private collections in Los Angeles (California – U.S.A.), as well as in the National Museum Gli Etruschi of Livorno (Italy) and in Italian private collections.

What inspires me?

What inspires me is the beauty of creation and the pureness and love that let to the act of creation…

About My art…

My art depicts abstract  and symbolic figures, celestial beings and religious archetypes, elements of nature, shapes and forms with strong color contrasts and shades, expressing the innate need of humankind for beauty, pureness, joy, happiness and Truth, as well as the desire and research of spiritual elevation to reach the immaterial and the Essence of everything.  My art is permeated by truly deep mysticism, to draw the viewer’s attention to issues of universal value.

My art production…

Ilike to experiment and research for powerful and yet natural and gentle means of expressions, and I work on different art projects and collections, which at the moment can be summarized as follows: Abstract Paintings, Conceptual Symbolic Paintings, Figurative Paintings, Miniature Paintings, Pieces Painting Project, Photography Painting Art, Oil Pastels Collection and Painting Based Digital Art.  I use different techniques and mediums to create my artworks.

My creativity recently found expression in new project of digital art and applied art, that I carry out, from 2018, in parallel with traditional art.

My education…

Icompleted my education in the USA obtaining a High School Certificate of Proficiency – Mira Costa High School, Manhattan Bch., California  in 1987, and in Italy with a University Degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures – Università degli Studi di Roma Tre – Rome in 1998.

What they said about me…

“Iknow and I admire the art of our capable and prepared artist:  Barbara Stamegna…, an artist ready for the big jump in the tough world of contemporary art.  Her palette is rich and full of cultural values, her layout is all personal, the interest of national critics in her painting leads us to believe that she’s a painter capable to make the news with her art…In each painting you can note with pleasure the growth in interpretation of all her creations.  In each of her artworks you can see the extent of inspiration, blending the whole in an expressive fantasy.  Her paintings, permeated with far reaching cultural, ethical and human values, make universal the message of this fascinating and very valuable art.  My full approval, with the wish of great success in the art world.”
