Different from the first version, while it also has red color as its main color element, it also has slight grey shades . The grey shades work to making the parts with red color become more apparent and also symbolize the ‘facade’ of one’s life that is visible to others while these red ‘lines’ indicate the ‘pure’ soul, one’s true self that is being hidden just to adjust themselves to the standards.
Therefore the second version is more like the representation of human’s deeper feelings rather than a symbol of life.
“Dancing” is a painting to portray the beauty of a swimming fish and its smooth dynamic. As an animal living in water, fish symbolism is about connecting our life with the water element. It is about dynamic; freedom, energy, activity, passion, and most importantly it connects us with the depths of our unconscious and self-awareness mind. The painting was done digitally with the dominant red color element and black background to be an art that awaken one’s passion and energy.
‘The Entity’ is about hope, about beliefs, about the life itself; as a part of our existence. It was based on the culture that I’ve been growing up with and an idea that came unexpectedly in most unexpected time. It was also made to ‘comfort’ people who see it, just like how I was being comforted while creating the piece.
Rather than dragons, how about a goldfish spirit guarding a holy place on the top of a mountain? I wanted to share not only its beauty but also its life as a form of hope (in symbolic way), something precious that we should be thankful for.
