‘Of Water and Fate’ represents the hope and willpower that one possesses in her heart, despite of the struggling she has to face in her life. We often talk about growth and about success as the reward of our perseverance in facing the world; but do we talk enough about the beginning of the sweet ending? Before every sweet ending, there was always a great struggling. It is something bitter, but it is also a part of us. A fight with ourselves, a fight with the voices that keeping us from growing.
Through this painting I’d like to portray that fight and hope that born within it. That constant fight with ourselves which seems to be drowning us, but actually is nothing stronger than our willpower. This painting doesn’t mean to scare and to demotivate people, but instead, to remind that ‘true power’ lies within us. Buried in our deepest heart, embraced by our inner voice; which presence needs to be acknowledged by ourselves to make it lightens our path in the dark.
